Do you want to create a soundtrack that plays throughout your activity? Follow this simple guide, and you can create an extended soundtrack.
Choose how long you want your activity to run for - let's imagine you have a 5 minute task. You now need to create a piece of music / soundtrack that will last for 5 minutes.
Audacity is great for this - although other sound editors can be used as well. There are two ways to make your soundtrack / music;
- Import a piece of music into audacity, and then use the timeline to see when to fade the music and cut the remaining track out to create a file of the correct length. Export it as an .mp3 file (better quality than a .wav file).
- Using a voice recorder, record your own soundtrack (children playing / the sound of a classroom / etc). Import it into audacity and fade, cut and export as before.
Now you need to go the information screen (the 'splash' screen) that displays at the start of an activity, and in the music options select the folder, browse your computer for the file you created and select it.
That's it - now you will have your soundtrack playing when you start the activity and it will play throughout the time you set the activity for. However, if you finish early, the music will continue to play until you either close the activity or start again.
